In His eyes

I am not lacking.

God has really laid His hand upon me through many means this year. One really powerful image He's put in my heart and mind came during "Prayer Furnace" leading up to Interpraise (24 hour prayer room open leading up to an annual worship event open to all fellowships). I spent time praying on my own but then I went into this other section of the room for corporate prayer. After singing "I Will Offer Up My Life," we all spent time just listening for anything God wanted to be spoken that night. We just listened. I don't remember if the image came during prayer or listening time, but that's unimportant.

Instead of darkness, I saw the image of a face before me. I was so close to this person that I could basically only see his eyes. And in his eyes I could see all that was going on behind me. I saw a mushroom cloud of smoke (nuclear bomb), pain, sorrow, and agony, but I felt completely safe and at peace. I felt no worry, no pain myself...just peace. And I realized I was looking at the face of Jesus, into His eyes. He is the face of hope, love, peace, and everything good.

And what I prayed after sharing this image was that we as children of God on earth, we would remember to stay close to God (I was probably within 3/4 inches) and keep our eyes locked with His because once we look away we'll be hit with all the worries and weight of this world. When we look away we will fall. But if we keep our eyes on Jesus, that world is all behind us. I also remember talking about, how we are usually the ones that have moved away when we feel distant from God. We can always come back to Him. He gives us the strength to come back if we'd only ask.

While we were still praying, a girl from Intervarsity--Allie Hu--put a piece of paper in my hands. It read:
"Megan, when you shared that image I heard this song. May it be the song of your heart. Allie Hu. 'Turn your eyes upon Jesus/Look full in His wonderful face and the things of the world will grow strangely dim in the light of Your glory and grace'"

I love how God reaches us in different ways. He reached me visually. He reached Allie musically. I wonder who else was reached. *Don't be timid! When God puts something on your heart, it's soo important that you share because he may be using you to reach one of your brothers or sisters! He's giving you the honor of being used and sharing in His work =D.

During this finals season, turn your eyes to Jesus and don't look away! For
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" Philippians 4:13
and all things includes finals. He has delivered us from hairier situations like say sin, so why fear paper and ink?
